The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a great youth charity which helps young people fulfil their potential and prepares them for life and work. The charity works with thousands of young people providing a programme of activities that promote development and build confidence between the ages of 14 and 24.
The programmes are based on Bronze, Silver and Gold award schemes, for which each one requires four to five types of activity to be completed. These activities include volunteering, physical activity, developing personal skills and working away from home with others (Gold only).
A fantastic activity which also forms part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme is the ‘Expedition’. This requires the individual to plan an adventurous journey in the UK or Abroad which can be challenging, but is very fulfilling for the young person and helps promote self confidence. We stock a variety of D of E approved brands and equipment which the young person will need to complete their trip – So we decided to create a collection to show the best items for anyone looking to complete this aspect of a Duke of Edinburgh Award.
